We assissted in the design of an Eastern Region RIBA award winning sustainable carbon neutral project. The use of biomass was employed to provide space and water heating, and the project was constructed using sustainable cedar boarding and insulated with recycled newspaper (cellulose). This sustainable form of construction was thermally modelled to prove the design concept prior to detailed design and construction.
A renewable energy grant was successfully applied for on behalf of the Thames Chase Forest Visitor Centre to contribute to the biomass boiler installation within the building.
