On 1 March 2016 The Energy Practice was purchased by Concertus Design & Property Consultants.
Michael Foley from The Energy Practice commented: “This is great news and a positive step in the growth plans for both businesses. The acquisition gives us the potential to further develop our specialisms and will increase our opportunities to pitch for larger projects. An added bonus will be that our 12-strong team will now have easier access through Concertus, to other disciplines such as Architecture, Cost Consultancy and Project Management so we are able to provide a complete professional service to our client.”
The acquisition by Ipswich-based Concertus, who employs over 100 people and already works successfully in delivering public buildings such as schools, libraries and community hubs, will allow it to increase its portfolio of work both geographically and within the private sector.
Andrew Rowe, Managing Director of Concertus added: “The Energy Practice compliments our existing capabilities and will allow us to expand our building services operation and further increase our ability to work on projects in the niche markets for carbon, energy and sustainability.”
Going forward, The Energy Practice name will remain and the existing team will continue to work from its office at Great Horkesley near Colchester in Essex. As well as being involved with the Energy Practice Team, Mike Foley and Robert Reeves will become Associate Directors at Concertus.
Andrew continued: “To the outside world, nothing will really change as the two business names will remain and the familiar faces will still be around. The only real changes will be with our people, as they will now have more opportunities to develop their careers, and our clients as we will be able to offer more specialist services such as carbon analysis and support for procurement and operation of energy systems.”
