Our engineers are registered consultants under the Government’s ‘Carbon Trust’ scheme providing energy advice to industry and commerce. We have been instrumental in securing supportive grants for eligible projects under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme and Bio-Energy Programme on behalf of our clients. We are registered consultants under the BRE “Community Sustainable Energy Programme”. Carbon analysis is an important part of our client offering enabling organisation wide comparisons to be made and identifying comparable metrics to drive forward carbon efficiencies that readily translate into bottom line savings.

We are engaged on a number of projects demanding low energy ccnsumption and waste reduction to promote sustainability in the completed project. Our philosophy is to reduce the impact of building services, operations and procurement as a function of both design and application to reduce cost and promote efficiency.

We offer the traditional “building services” mechanical/electrical services design and specification packages for a full design and project management service and also contractor appointed design and build options. We advise on Part ‘L2’ of the Building Regulations, and are CIBSE registered ‘Low Carbon Consultants’, (LCC). Working closely with all members of the design team, building developers, project managers, architects, quantity surveyors and structural engineers we are able to advise and develop building/engineering design solutions; not only demonstrating compliance with Part ‘L2’ but going beyond the regulations and providing low carbon and carbon neutral buildings for the future.

We run Thermal Analysis Software (TAS), a Department of Communities and Local Government (‘DCLG’), approved computer software package. TAS allows analysis and modelling of building and engineering design options and thus demonstrates compliance with Part ‘L2’ and quantifying carbon savings.

We are approved assessors under the NHER energy ratings scheme and registered to carry out SAP500 calculations to meet the requirements of Part L1 of the building regulations. We are also approved by the BRE to undertake Part L2 assessments using ‘HEVACOMP’ software. We are experienced in the design and application of renewable power systems such as wind turbines, biomass conversion, geothermal energy transfer and solar energy and regularly apply these technological solutions within our detailed work for various projects.
We have carried out both simple and more complex designs for the health, education, leisure, commercial and industrial sectors.
The Energy Practice is able to provide you with your Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) and Display Energy Certificates (DEC) requirements under the CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant Energy Assessor Scheme using Dynamic Simulation Software, carbon footprint analyses and advice.

The company carries out its activities under the umbrella of an Environmental Management System. We are trained assessors under the BSI scheme for Carbon Footprinting and ISO14001.
