In 1988 the National Energy Foundation (NEF) was established to promote energy conservation and provide help to improve energy efficiency in residential buildings. Working in partnership with the Energy Advisory Service (EAS), the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme was developed. The NHER is the UK’s first and
largest energy rating system.

SAP is the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for Energy Rating of Dwellings. SAP 2005 is adopted by government as part of the UK national methodology for calculation of the energy performance of buildings. It is used to demonstrate compliance with building regulations for dwellings - Part L (England and Wales), Section 6 (Scotland) and Part F (Northern Ireland) - and to provide energy ratings for dwellings. Our assessors are registered for SAP assessments through NHER:

ACE represents the business interests of the consultancy and engineering industry in the UK. They are the leading business association in this field, counting around 800 firms operating across many different disciplines.
