In 1988 the National Energy Foundation (NEF) was established to promote energy conservation and provide help to improve energy efficiency in residential buildings. Working in partnership with the Energy Advisory Service (EAS), the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme was developed. The NHER is the UK’s first and
largest energy rating system.
SAP is the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for Energy Rating of Dwellings. SAP 2005 is adopted by government as part of the UK national methodology for calculation of the energy performance of buildings. It is used to demonstrate compliance with building regulations for dwellings - Part L (England and Wales), Section 6 (Scotland) and Part F (Northern Ireland) - and to provide energy ratings for dwellings. Our assessors are registered for SAP assessments through NHER:

The Carbon Trust was set up by Government in 2001 as an independent company. Their mission is to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy by working with organisations to reduce carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies through the 'Carbon Trust' audit scheme.
We have carried out over 150 commissions on behalf of this scheme that enables commercial and industrial energy users to free energy and design advice for implementing low carbon systems and access to interest free loans to assist in financing the installation of low energy technologies and schemes.
